On March 7th O’Fallon Kiwanis Club members volunteered at the O’Fallon IHOP on Hwy K for National Pancake Day. This was a great service project for the Club – raising money for kids!!!
IHOP started National Pancake Day back in 2006 at IHOPs across the country. Kiwanis International has partnered with Children’s Miracle Network and IHOP for the past several years to help them raise money for kids. The great thing is that all the money raised here will go to our local hospitals: St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Cardinal Glennon and SSM.
Kiwanis Club members, Ed and Martha Radginski started the day at 7:00am selling “balloons” to customers at the tables while telling them about National Pancake Day, Children’s Miracle Network and sometimes discussing Kiwanis. The people were very generous in their donations.
The next O’Fallon Kiwanis members who worked a shift at IHOP that day collecting donations for Children’s Miracle Network were Tom Shea, Katie Page and John Chambless. Then later came Club members, Ozzie Maher and Jerry Davis.
106.5 The Arch radio station was live on the air from 7:00-9:00am talking about National Pancake Day. Lyndsey Skinner from Children’s Miracle Network was there with Kennedy, the poster child for this event. She’s the reason we were there raising money. What a great event!
